Ground-state microwave-stimulated Raman transitions and adiabatic spin transfer in the N15 nitrogen vacancy center

چکیده

Microwave pulse sequences are the basis of coherent manipulation electronic spin ground state in nitrogen vacancy (NV) centers. In this work we demonstrate stimulated Raman transitions (SRTs) and adiabatic passage (STIRAP), two ways to drive dipole-forbidden transition between sublevels triplet NV center. This driving is achieved by a two-photon microwave which simultaneously drives detuned via virtual level for SRTs or partially overlapping resonant pulses STIRAP. We lay theoretical framework SRT STIRAP dynamics verify experimentally predictions population inversion observing single A comparison schemes showed better robustness success swap compared SRT.

Microwave photon Fock state generation by stimulated Raman adiabatic passage

The deterministic generation of non-classical states of light, including squeezed states, Fock states and Bell states, plays an important role in quantum information processing and exploration of the physics of quantum entanglement. Preparation of these non-classical states in resonators is non-trivial due to their inherent harmonicity. Here we use stimulated Raman adiabatic passage to generate...

Coherence transfer between atomic ground states by the technique of stimulated Raman adiabatic passage.

We experimentally and theoretically demonstrate that the atomic coherence can be completely transferred or arbitrarily contributed among the different levels in a four-level atomic (tripod) scheme by a group of coupled pulse sequences. This technique can be applied to the information conversion in slow-light storage, quantum logical gates, and so on, which is based on the atomic coherence effect.

Spin-flip and spin-conserving optical transitions of the nitrogen-vacancy centre in diamond

We map out the first excited state sublevel structure of single nitrogen-vacancy (NV) colour centres in diamond. The excited state is an orbital doublet where one branch supports an efficient cycling transition, while the other can simultaneously support fully allowed optical Raman spin-flip transitions. This is crucial for the success of many recently proposed quantum information applications ...

Efficient coherent internal state transfer in trapped ions using Stimulated Raman Adiabatic Passage

We demonstrate experimentally how the process of Stimulated Raman Adiabatic Passage (STIRAP) can be utilized for efficient coherent internal state transfer in single trapped and laser-cooled Ca ions. The transfer from the D3/2 to the D5/2 state, is detected by a fluorescence measurement revealing the population not transfered to the D5/2 state. A coherent population transfer efficiency at the l...
